Sat outside having drinks overlooking the green. Very pretty. Went in later and had a meal and was lovely aswell. Great atmosphere all the time.
Staying in the local area due to work training and was recommended to come here by my teacher. The food was delicious and such a good portion size. The hand cut chips were beautiful and fish was so tasty! My family members both had burgers and loved them too. Thoroughly recommend and the service was fab! I have lived in Essex my whole life but had never been to Finchingfield. Now I can't wait to go back. It's a charming little village with a large green, pond and to top it off a superb pub, The Fox on the Green. The staff were welcoming and happily seated the family and myself despite us not having a booking. The menu was varied but being Sunday we opted for the Roast, two chicken and one beef. It arrived promptly accompanied by a cauliflower cheese to share. Everything was cooked beautifully, especially the beef which was of high quality, will definitely be back soon!
Great view, nice pub, love the painted walls around the inside of the bar area. Good choice of drinks including Jeremy Clarksons beer "Hawkstone" . Amazing hanging baskets!!! Love the gothic windows too. Very nice sitting outside watching the world go by. Good service. Bikers welcome too. Keep up the good work!

The roast beef was tender and flavourful, paired with crispy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and a Yorkshire pudding that was spot-on. The seasonal vegetables were fresh and well-prepared, and the accompanying horseradish had just the right kick. The menu also offered a range of other tempting dishes, and the dessert selection looked equally appealing — we’ll definitely be back to try more. There’s also a great selection of ales and wines to accompany your meal, adding to the overall experience. Loved the atmosphere and location. Beautiful inside and very friendly. Plenty of seating, the food that came out looked amazing. Was a squeeze at the bar to order yet served quickly and super friendly.
You must try the Sunday roast, we regularly have fox in a box where you take away, you won’t be disappointed, great food / value for money
Absolutely Lovely Location and 10/10 Roast Dinner, I am always easily Disappointed with Traditional Sunday Roasts whenever we go out, However This place was Bang on with the quality and crispy roasties the beef was amazing and fresh, veg was on point and the Yorkshire pudding and gravy finished a perfect meal, fantastic portions and you leave feeling full!!! Definitely will return and definitely going to have a Sunday roast again soon. Thanks for having us
